Balance the Yin and Yang
Cupping is a traditional therapy that involves placing cups on the skin to create gentle suction. This helps improve blood circulation, release muscular tension and support the body’s natural healing process.
In addition, cupping encourages better oxygen and nutrient delivery to tissues. As a result, it can help reduce pain, improve mobility and support recovery from muscle strain or sports injuries.
Furthermore, cupping has been used for centuries in both Eastern and Western medicine. Today, it is commonly used to support relaxation, reduce stress and promote overall wellbeing.
Greek physician Hippocrates, often referred to as the “father” of medicine, even compiled descriptions of cupping techniques. The suction helps facilitate the flow of “qi” in the body. Qi is a Chinese word meaning life force.
Cupping helps balance yin and yang, or the negative and positive, within the body. Restoring balance between these two extremes helps with the body’s resistance to pathogens as well as its ability to increase blood flow and reduce pain.
I use cupping to complement your care for a host of symptoms and conditions and usually in combination with other therapies.
